Awful experience with them, got a phone call the night before a mole removal operation to say it was cancelled. No explanation given and not rescheduled. It's so stressful when you're already worried that the mole could be cancerous.
I stayed for one night after my procedure and was so pleased with everyone I encountered at the hospital. The staff were all lovely, especially my night nurse Julie who was so caring throughout.
I would recommend this hospital to any family or friend of mine and I felt thoroughly looked after.
Avoid to be honest, staff rude, I was approached by a blonde girl whilst walking through hospital trying to find out patients and she was so rude,
My overall experience was very good. I had my operation very quickly after being referred, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and my room was lovely.
I have had a number of surgical procedures carried out at Spire Hospital, Harpenden. The hospital is clean, the environment is happy and cheerful and the staff were all lovely. I would thoroughly recommend this hospital.
I would highly recommend Spire Harpenden Hospital. From the moment i arrived i was put at ease and this continued until my discharge. All staff were fantastic and the care they delivered was of a very high standard.
The hospital is really nice and clean. The staff is very professional. After my surgery, they were visiting me every hour to ensure that I was fine. I felt very well looked after. I highly recommend this hospital.
I recently had a hysterectomy at Spire Harpenden & cannot praise highly enough the care & attention I received from everyone at the hospital. A traumatic experience was made easier by all the staff. A special thank you has to go to the nursing staff who were just amazing.
Without exception, very friendly and caring staff. Made all the difference to my stay.
When you're referred to a consultant and this leads to a requirement for treatment or an operation it's not at all clear who project manages the process. Partly it is the consultant and his secretary (setting operation dates etc) and partly the hospital (sending out admission papers etc). I received my admission papers just 3 days (1 working day) before the operation even though the date was known weeks before that which was not acceptable. Before the operation I was told that I would be discharged on the same day (provided I met the usual conditions) but in the end it was too late to see the physiotherapist (necessary for my discharge) and so I had to stay overnight. These were all process problems rather than care issues (care was fantastic) but really need to be sorted.
As an outpatient for pre and post operative appointments I think the waiting area could be improved from the lines of chairs to something nicer.
