I agree, the service overall has gone downhill no one, doctors included seem interested in what you have to say about whats wrong with you, it's next to impossible to get an appointment, they tell you have to ring in in the morning because you can't book an appointment in advance, This means you have to take the day off work in the off chance you can get through and get an appointment, you ring in, the phone rings with no answer, if your lucky you get the recording press 1 for .... etc. then it rings again then hangs up, so you have to start allover again.
Once i let the phone ring, after 20 minutes got fed up and left the phone ringing to go shopping, returned 1 hour 25 mins later and the phone was still ringing.
All the same if it was an emergency.
Now I know its free and suppose you get what you pay for, but does everyone not deserve to be treated as equel, with some sort of respect as a patient and not because of who you are or who you know.
I’ve just taken my Aunt and Uncle, Beth and Jim Henry for their Covid Vaccines and they asked me to say thank you for the very thoughtful care and individual attention which they both received at such a busy, difficult time as this. The Staff were all so pleasant and cheerful in the midst of constant questioning about where and how ! Nothing was too much trouble and they definitely scored 100% in their care and efficiency category !! Well done to everyone on the team at Mountsandal Surgery. Thank you so much.
Not impressed, standard of patient service is getting worse, the receptionist's seem to think they can diagnose over the phone....YOU ARE A RECEPTIONIST,you answer the phone, getting an appt is near impossible and then to have them just hang up the phone, very unprofessional
It has shocked me in recent years how this practice has turned into a shell ( the building) the doctors do not seem to be interested in caring for patients with individual needs .
They seem to be reading from a prewritten text , on a loop .
Although it is very difficult to get through or subsequently get an appointment , I cannot understand the reason , as when you are there , the waiting area is usually virtually empty .
I cannot think that they care about improving , but should they ever reflect on their' medical care' commitment , they should consider that each person ( patient and doctor) is an individual person with personalised medical requirements.
Listening ( hearing) ,communicating , and genuinely committing to give the best medical help , would or should be considered as an essential part of this professional calling .
I realise that as a patient with complicated combination of conditions , but do not accept that that should ever be a reason to quote generalisations . Even when they are told information ,they have their wall of cliché and it is beyond reach to get the individual help .
There is always the other option..... pharmaceuticals , really their is more to treating a patient than this.
I have many more words , but really feel , it would be pointless
Staff are very helpful and good natured. The warfarin clinic is run very well and the doctors are all very good in my experience
