In 2009 Mr Spink operated on my C7 prolapsed disc which had caused pain and numbness in both arms. I had been suffering this for many years and had progressively worsened until Mr Spink performed the operation. I have not had any pain since that time and It was a life changing experience. In recent months I had developed Sciatica in both legs which an MRI scan revealed I had Stenosis which had caused damage to my sciatic nerves. I asked the GP for a referral to Mr Spink who had impressed me in 2009. The GP advised they could not guarantee which Neuro Surgeon I would see and that the present waiting time for an operation was approximately 12 months. I decided I would go privately and see Mr Spink for whom I have a great deal of respect for his skill and experience. He performed a Laminectomy on 3 of my lumber joints and has greatly improved my condition. For anyone experiencing cervical or lumber problems I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Spink as the first choice as probably the best in his specialism. The only thing I would add is that I was not impressed with the short stay in Hull Spire hospital. I would choose a different hospital if I had my time again. This is no reflection on the services of Mr Spink. Mr Michael Davies York

The past year has been incredibly challenging for me after my motorcycle accident. From the beginning of April 2023 until the end of October 2023, I was misdiagnosed with muscle damage and neck wear and tear. Frustrated by the lack of progress, I sought a second opinion from Mr Spink privately at the end of October 2023. Within half an hour, including an X-ray, Mr Spink confirmed that I had a broken odontoid on my C2 vertebra. During our consultations, Mr Spink provided clear explanations of all the treatment options. Your honesty about what to expect from each option was greatly appreciated. We agreed that surgery—specifically C1/C2 fixation—was the best course of action for my condition. I underwent the operation five weeks ago, and my recovery is progressing remarkably well. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your skill, advice, and professionalism. Your management of my case and the successful outcome have left me truly thankful. While I hope I won’t require any future surgeries (touch wood), if I do, you will undoubtedly be my first choice. Thank you once again, Mr. Spink. Warm regards, Brian

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Mr Spink Thanks to the surgery you did on my neck, (May 2023) I feel I have a new life. I sleep better I'm running , swimming , gardening and very importantly to me I am playing my trombone without any pain. I rarely take any painkillers, probably no more than anyone else my age. So really, I just wanted to say thank you for the surgery, your advice your professionalism I could not be happier with how you managed my case and the outcome.

I visited George Spink at Spire Hull after a referral from NHS. I have had a long standing lower back problem that has gone undiagnosed. George diagnosed the problem and offered different alternative treatments. We have made a choice and now can start on a journey of recovery. Many thanks

I would highly recommend Mr George Spink he explained everything to me to make sure I fully understood the surgery I was to have and answered any questions I asked thoroughly , he gave me time to think and to get back to his secretary to arrange things if I wanted to proceed (which I did), the surgery went well, and I am recovering well
