Overall my experience has been quite negative. My main reason feel indifferent about this place is because there are several members of staff who do listen, and seem to care for us. However, there is a large number of staff that seem to lack the correct level of understanding which leads to a number of appalling events a day. Staff should be briefed EVERY shift of the expectations, such as this being a non contact ward, and it not being the patients being defiant/ unreasonable/argumentative but rather their disorders. Patience is key, which is often not considered (in the case of a lot of agency staff)

Suggested improvements
Making sure that staff are briefed. Highlighting the Pit Alarm as an EMERGENCY alarm. Patience. And remembering that a SMILE goes a long way.
