The consistency of rules should be made clear particularly on the use of hairdryers, agency nurses hand them over, then arrive in your room around 10.30 at night to search for your hairdryer if it’s not locked away in the store room. NHS nurses are on the ball of allocating them to patients and collecting them. Staff confiscate plastic bags when you enter from your belongings, the staff then give you the shower head in a plastic bag in order to attach to the water supply to shower! Your phone charger is taken from you on entry, but staff are charging their phones in the main lounge where patients are. Male nurses are entering women’s rooms (on a women’s ward) with medication without a chaperone, whereas the doctors do use a chaperone. Very noisy overnight, with slamming doors, particularly the clinical room door. Night staff dragging their chairs back up the corridor at 6am after the night watch. Oh dear, not very hygienic for a nurse to lower her mask then bite the top off of a salad cream sachet and had it to a patient! The kitchen staff are always pleasant and eager to help. Come on Meadows ......
