Considering how incredible this hospital and its staff are, I'm very surprised that nobody has reviewed it through this site before. I was admitted to the Heart Hospital twice. The first admission was on 10/2/14 for three procedures (performed in one session by Dr Obi Agu, his surgical team, and Dr Mike Mullen's interventional team). My admission lasted until 14/2/14, during which I was transferred to the ICU, had physiotherapy sessions, and was reviewed daily by members of the surgical team. The operation, though complicated, was successful, and every one of the nurses I met were compassionate and extremely helpful. On my second night as an inpatient I discovered the body of a roommate who had passed away in the bathroom; the nurses on duty acted immediately and, afterward, helped me deal with an obviously traumatic event. The next day the resuscitation manager and hospital matron both visited me, as did a number of other staff; their support helped me through a very difficult time. My second admission was on 16/2/14 with an infection that proved to be type-A flu (and, I believe, was first caught prior to my admission to the Heart Hospital). I had been transferred from Frimley Park Hospital (a local hospital to which I was admitted via their A&E department). During my stay at the local hospital the staff at the Heart Hospital communicated regularly with the Frimley Park staff, and the transfer itself was organised in a very efficient manner. The individual rooms at the HH were very clean and comfortable, and all of the staff were, again, fantastic. I was discharged on 20/2/14.
