Brilliant service
Waiting times for consultation were great. Staff were very friendly and professional.
I was waiting for the doctor to see me at the a&e for 3 hours. At St mary hospital
and I can’t believe that the receptionist confessed that the doctor was by purpose neglecting taking patients. in to be seen, I have never felt so humiliated. Terrible hospital usefulness absolutely unprofessional
I was today prevented by NHS staff from attending my pre-booked private consultation with a consultant.
For my protection, I am one of the growing number of people who has opted out of NHS data sharing, I take active steps to prevent the NHS obtaining or accessing my data. This is why I booked a private consultation. Arrogant NHS staff told me I could not see my consultant if I did not agree to my data being held on the NHS system - for a private consultation! I believe NHS is acting unlawfully and contrary to the GDPR; you have no authority to block access to my consultant on condition I give you my data. I am not obliged to share ANY data with you. Every day I am more and more disgusted by the arrogance and lack of humanity shown by NHS people. There is no legal or lawful basis for me to give you any of my data in order to access a consultation I am paying for privately. I had taken 1/2 a day off work to attend, only for this smarmy manager to tell me he was preventing me from seeing him.
I have been treated by Mr Mustaq with ankle problems and he treated me with care and compassion.
You are all brilliant.xxx
The care of the hospital was very good and clean the staff was helpful and kind and the doctors made me feeling comfortable and relaxed before having surgery

St Mary's is obviously an older facility, but the staff working in the hospital at all levels was outstanding. Some of the public areas could have been a bit cleaner. But the main concern we had was regarding signage, which is at times very confusing. Since the maze of rooms can obviously not be easily changed, it might be worth developing an online map (or even an app) that can be directly accessed via one's appointment email, which would guide you automatically to the correct location upon arrival.
St Mary’s hospital does not have enough doctors, nurses or midwives to provide a good care. This results in disorganised departments (patients waiting for hours), lack of communication with the patient (for example: test results not shared, appointments being booked or cancelled without informing the patient…), rude reception staff, or no clear follow-ups.
The building itself needs a deep clean and urgent restoration.
The wards are unfriendly, tiny and noisy - not designed to provide even a decent experience.
This hospital make you feel like you are a car being repaired rather than a human being treated.
