I booked in to receive elective cosmetic surgery (removal of dermoid cyst). The surgeon and supporting nurses were excellent, but the 'ward nurses' may as well not have been there. I was left in a room for approx. 3 hrs prior to surgery without a word (luckily I had brought work with me to keep me occupied). After surgery, due to a pulse collapse the nurse took me back to my room on a trolley and insisted that I must go nowhere until the ward nurses had brought me a sugary drink and snack, which were apparently "on the way". After another hour's wait, I got bored and checked out, asking the ward "nurses" to cut off my wristband (which they did without question), and I then drove to Sainsburys (feeling quite woozy) to buy some chocolate in order to raise my blood sugar. All in all, great surgeons and supporting nurses; the ward nurses however should all be sacked.
