Due to a few idividuals who work at the hospital, they make it a hospital I trust to help with any medical condition I have, however saying that I am not 100% happy about staying in overnight as it is then I feel the service decreases. The hospital is generally clean, however I feel that this too can be improved.

I have been to the diabetes clinic today, from booking in to a computer and being weighed in then my ticket number number came up on a screen telling me to go to room 26, went like clock work. I was treated with respect thoughtfulness and understanding and went away very happy that doctor kelly had listened to me and we agreed on my next course of treatment as he always does at my 6 monthly appointments. I have noticed on my visits that the computer booking system has come in leaps and bounds and worked for me today, i am proud to have a well run hospital in my town of Southend on sea, ESSEX. END

I have worked with Dr Kelly for nearly 4 years now. I have always found him to be punctual, polite and extremely supportive and helpful towards his patients as well as his colleagues, i have never seen a patient with a bad word to say about him, only positive feedback. Dr Kelly is very kind natured with both patients and colleagues. He has the patient's needs specifically in mind. I think Dr Kelly is certainly an asset to Southend Hospital and hope to have many more years of working in his clinic as I feel the clinics are very beneficial to the patients. laura

I have answered the above questions purely based on my visit to see Dr Kelly. His clinic seems to go above and beyond what I would expect from a busy hospital.

I have not always had good assistance in the past. I would not see one particular consultant for my condition as I was not being listened to over a long period of time in spite of my efforts. However a new consultant, Dr Philip Kelly, to the hospital has treated me well from the start and continues to do so. Therefore I would recommend but only if he was the endocrinologist in question.
