Share review of Princess Royal Hospital
Overall, the treatment I received at the hospital was good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I had one incident which left me feeling upset.
I was not allowed out of bed because I had passed out during the night and they were keeping an eye on me which is a positive experience.
The next day, a nurse came to take some blood and as I needed to go to the toilet, she got a bedpan for me, which are now disposable, and not made for comfort! The nurse said she would be back shortly......but didn't come back! About 45mins later I pressed the buzzer, no one came. Eventually I had to shout for help, then two doctors came running in to me. When they realised what the problem was they got a bit cross with me. They didn't realise that at that point, I had actually been sat on the bedpan for over an hour! My dignity was dented a tad.
But, when I passed out during the first night in hospital, everyone who helped me were incredible and I couldn't praise them enough. The incident was dealt with in the way how I remember hospitals back in the 1960's.....with great care and concern
