Being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time at the height of a pandemic is not great, but Derriford Hospital has been amazing. My treatment has been seamless from Day 1, and couldn't have been completed any faster despite the huge pressures the hospital has been under. Throughout the last 6 months staff at every level - consultants through to receptionists - have been professional, friendly, supportive, helpful, reassuring and 'on it' from Day 1 as i have undertaken chemotherapy and surgery. The next stages of treatment - radiotherapy etc - are all organised, dates are in the diary, and I am fully up to speed with what else will be required for the next 3-5 years. I feel very fortunate to have Derriford as my local hospital.
