My son was wellcared for, good food, helpful, kind staff generally, adequate conditions & nice small garden & attractive walks nearby. The daily activities for patients greatly improved when designated staff were appointed later in his treatment. I was treated courteously & as his carer was given in depth info about his care & day to day wellbeing, although I usually had to ring and ask for this. The communication stream needs updating for families, & I was only sent info. & welcome pack some weeks after my sons admission! He spent 2 months there but I was not impressed by the mode of discharge as I was phoned at 7.30pm Friday to say that he had been sent home to his flat, which was a surprise, particularly as it was a bank holiday weekend & neither of us had time to shop or prepare. He told me that he had only peanuts for his dinner which is totally unacceptable.
