I had a very bad experience at Barnet Hospital today. I am 36 weeks pregnant and as usual, I have been to the GP for my 36 weeks appointment this morning. I showed the midwife the last scan I had 1 week ago at mothercare edmonton and the scan showed the baby should weight at least 200g more at this stage. The midwife called Barnet Hospital Straight away and arrange for me to seen today and do another Scan to make sure the baby is growing properly. As It has been as week, the baby should be weighting more. I also do have high blood pressure and take tablets for it and also had pre eclampsia on my first pregnancy, It would be perfect to check it now she said. As i did not expect that to happened today,I did not arrange anybody to stay with my 3 years old boy and had to take him with me to the hospital. I arrived at the hospital at about 11:30 in the morning and headed straight to well house women's centre and after about 20 minutes i was asked to go inside and sit down to have the baby's heart beat monitored. That all went well and then I was asked to sit in the waiting room and wait to see the doctor to have my Scan done. The hours went by and after 2 and 1/2 hours of wait and having to control my little boy in every single way, I decided to go ask the midwife if it was going to take too long as my son was hungry and I was worried about the ticket in the car. She replied quite angry saying I should not worry about the car as i could pay the difference until midnight and told me to go get a sandwich downstairs as there were still 4 ladies to be seen before me. I did it and came back to sit down and wait another 2 hours ... yes, 2 hours more. The fire alarm went on 3 times very loudly alarming averyone in the room during this period of time. People stopped working as they did not know exactly if it was a fire or not. Very tired, stressed and dissatisfied with the whole situation, I went straight to the midwife again to find out if I was going to be seen or not. For Gods Sake I was waiting for over 4 hours now !!!! The doctor was there and that bit of the story I did record on camera as if something happens to my baby i will have it recorded from the doctors mouth. She said to me I should not be concerned only about the baby's weight. If the baby is growing fine, she is fine. "The weight is not important" she said. She said I couldn't have my scan done straight away and asked the midwife to make me an appointment as soon as possible for tomorrow. The midwife was not even listening and after a couple of minutes was trying to get me an appointment for 2 weeks time. At this point I got really, really angry with the whole situation as they made me wait almost 5 hours for absolutely nothing. I do believe if the the baby's weight was not important, the GP would not have arranged me to be seen straight away at barnet hospital and I also cannot believe I waited almost 5 hours in a waiting room with a 3 years old child to hear such a thing and have no scan done. I have always paid my taxes ( quite a lot actually from 2 jobs!) and just expect to have a little return and respect back at least from the hospital at such an important time. I have just got home and this have happened today (14/01/2016). Let's see how I am going to be treated from now until birth time. I will let everybody know...
