Both the nurse practitioner and 2nd year student nurse were so thorough and careful. The care and communication I received was care filled and both listened very well.

The NHS leaflet given for wound care, is not in line with the advice given by uk professional bodies representing dermatologists and plastic surgeons. The leaflet stated to keep the wound dry and allow scabs to form. The UK and USA standards state to apply petroleum jelly or other wound emollients, from the moment of suture onwards. Their advice prevents scarring. Allowing to remain dry and scab forming, unfortunately leads to scarring. Unfortunately I found this out too late.
