This surgery offers the opposite of the person centred approach that most healthcare services favour. After getting the appointment time wrong, being ushered in and out, and being told 'I don't have time to go through all of these symptoms', I left disappointed, disheartened and still no closer to feeling reassured about my symptoms. For someone with a history of medical conditions, it was awful to not be heard and dismissed. The receptionists could also do with a refresher in 'customer care' and etiquette.
Every time when I need help, which is not often, I am on the mission to get through unfriendly and bossy receptionists, it's like they made you a favour even to pick up the phone, not to mention endless waiting time on the phone, then I have to prove myself that I really need a help to receptionist then nurse and if I am lucky finally telephone consultation with a doctor, even I hardly could understand him because of his strong accent. And each one of them on that chain is trying to get rid of the patient, this is there main priority No 1, forget about "being helpful for instance" , they don't know what it means. Run a mile or more from Herschel medical centre in Slough. I was there for 15 years and now will change them.
I have always found Dr Clark and this surgery to be helpful, accommodating and thorough with the care they give to patients.
The surgery appear to be interested in moving the surgery forward and give patients the facility to offer feed back electronically at the surgery and also will listen to constructive criticism etc.
An excellent surgery always helpful and go that mile to help cannot fault them
Booking appointments to see a GP can be tricky but requesting telephone consultations are a good way of using doctor and patient time effectively although that wouldn't suit every patient.
Receptionists are hit and miss some are very helpful but aome need additional training on customer services.
