Had an appointment today with Dr Hiscocks he was extremely personable and professional. He has great listening skills and doesn’t prescribe for the sake of prescribing. I also have to commend Karen on reception for always going the extra mile, her sunny disposition is a credit to the practice. My only criticism would be how difficult it is to get an appointment though I guess this the same at any surgery. Many thanks Dr Hiscocks A* From the friendly greeting to the professional consultation I arrived home feeling fully informed.

It would be easier to get an audience with the pope than to get an appointment here. ( and more chance of getting healed than made well by these Drs ) Some of the receptionists are fine...some are horrible. The Drs themselves are not fit for purpose apart from one whos always on maternity. If your lucky enough to get an appointment. You wait 3 weeks and it 1 appointment =1 problem...even if there is more than 1 aspect to your problem. Is bedside manners a thing of the past?...Or even manners with some of these drs.

I had a recent appointment with Dr Cogan Hooijenga to discuss and ongoing medical condition. To say she was disinterested is an understatement. She struggled to even make eye contact with me and didn’t listen when I was telling her how I was feeling. After a very brief examination she basically told me that there was nothing she could do and stared at me until I left. Made me feel totally insignificant and hasn’t addressed my problems at all. In the past I have attended and been seen by Dr Crowe who couldn’t be more helpful or understanding. Completely different experience and a lovely person to deal with. I would recommend waiting to see her if it’s not an emergency. Reception staff are usually very helpful.

Both my wife and I have had considerable contact with Donaghadee Health Centre in recent times. We have no complaints at all with either the practise staff or the doctors all of whom we have found efficient and extremely helpful. Never had a problem getting an urgent appointment and use online Patient Access for ordinary appointments and repeat prescriptions. It's worth checking online regularly as there can be cancellations otherwise it might be a couple of weeks wait but that's how things are everywhere these days.
