I am working as Consultant in child and adolescent psychiatry. My role comprises of assessing children & adolescents who present with various emotional issues ( such as low mood , anxiety , neurodivergence ). I carry out thorough pre-assessments of the child ‘s needs ,agree the goals for psychiatry consultation and review all the information provided such as RCADS , SNAP -4 , BDI , BAI , SDQ etc). I have specialist expertise in ADHD , Autism & complex mental health needs ( substance use , psychosis , bipolar 1 & 2 , attachment issues , personality , stress , complex PTSD ) In the face to face / digital psychiatry consultation) there is clarification of symptoms and diagnosis is made accordingly. High quality clinical formulation and treatment and management plan is communicated with the GP and CAMHS team. In my role I prescribe psychotropic medication in line with NICE guidelines and also do medicine monitoring for therapeutic effects and side effects. I regularly participate in CAMHS MDT meetings , liaise with the CAMHS colleagues and engage in CPD programme.
