1 review

Dr Juber Hafiji is a Consultant Dermatologist and Specialist Dermatological Surgeon. He completed his dermatology training in Cambridge, UK where he developed his interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery. He then went onto complete the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery Fellowship in New Zealand, making him the only American College of Mohs surgery accredited surgeon in Kent. As Surgical Lead at East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Hafiji has driven change in enhancing the skin cancer service to improve the overall patient experience. Dr Hafiji works full time in the private sector in Kent at the One Ashford Hospital, Spencer Private Hospitals, BMI Chaucer Hospital, Spire Alexandra Hospital and 25 Harley Street, London. He has also set up new Community Dermatology Services in East Kent including Teledermatology bringing care closer to home. Dr Hafiji is a leading expert in Mohs micrographic surgery – the Gold Standard treatment for treating many skin cancers which utilises a specialised technique using a microscope to ensure all the roots of a skin cancer are removed. Mohs surgery offers the highest cure rate following skin cancer removal and allows a cosmetically pleasing repair to be performed (as the hole to remove the cancer is kept as small as possible). He is an active member of the British Association of Dermatologists and British Society for Dermatological Surgery and is regularly invited to speak nationally and internationally and regularly represents the British Skin Foundation in the media. He has published widely including writing book chapters for the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and contributing to National BMJ events which included the first Dermatology Masterclass of its kind. He is also the Associate Editor for Clinical Experimental Dermatology. His main clinical interests are in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. His main research interests are in highlighting surgical techniques that provide patients with the best results.
