George is a Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon sub-specialised in upper limb surgery and is passionate in providing personalised excellent care to his patients in all settings. In his practice George collects Patient Related Outcome Measure scores (PROMS) to ensure that his patients’ pathway is a successful one. He strives to treat his patients as he would expect his family to be treated. George joined Practice Plus Group Hospitals, Shepton Mallet (rated excellent by Clinical Quality Commision) in July 2019 after serving as an NHS consultant at Grantham and District General Hospital (United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust). Training: Medical qualification: King’s College School of Medicine, London. This followed on after completing two degrees and basic science research in Boston in the United States. Basic surgical training in London and Norwich and higher surgical training in NorthWest London and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Fellowship training: • Senior arthroscopy at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (Birmingham) • Arthroplasty fellow at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) • Upper limb fellowship at Royal London Hospital. All 3 academic centres are tertiary referral centres and centres of excellence. • Subspecialisation interest is in upper limb musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries in all three joints in the upper limb (shoulder, elbow and wrist). George is a keen sportsman and still pursues tennis and skiing to a high, though recreational, level. In his school days George was a national champion in shot-put and during college he attained 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. George works closely with physiotherapy colleagues to facilitate recovery. He has published widely in the fields of musculoskeletal tumours, carpal instability and complex hip trauma and has been invited to review articles for Clinical Orthopaedic and Related Research, an orthopaedic journal with a high impact factor.
