Gary Mundy was appointed as a Consultant in Orthopaedics at Northampton General Hospital in 2009. Qualifying from the University of Manchester in 1996, he subsequently achieved membership by examination to three royal surgical colleges – London, Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2000. His specialist orthopaedic training was on the Mid Trent training programme He was awarded the intercollegiate board fellowship in Orthopaedics in 2008 and also successfully passed the Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2008. For the final year of his training Mr Mundy undertook a senior fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty based at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, London. This fellowship allowed experience and training in all aspects of lower limb arthroplasty including, complex primary reconstruction, rheumatoid surgery, hip resurfacing, all aspects of hip and knee revision surgery and the use of massive prostheses for tumour and limb salvage. His work is divided between his NHS and private practice. He provides a comprehensive elective and trauma service dealing with hip and knee pathology. His main interest is in joint replacements undertaking both primary and complex revision(redo) surgery of hip and knee replacements. He also has an interest in musculoskeletal tumours and is the sarcoma and musculoskeletal tumour lead for Northampton General Hospital. He provides a weekly clinic at Northampton General Hospital for review of soft tissue and bony swellings. As well as providing a comprehensive elective practice in lower limb problems, Mr Mundy has a keen interest in lower limb trauma and is a faculty member on the AO national operative fracture management course. Mr. Mundy is currently the Clinical Director in Orthopaedics at Northampton General hospital. He is a Fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association, corresponding fellow to the Faculty of Sports Medicine, and a member of the British Hip Society, British Association for Knee Surgery, British Orthopaedic Oncology Society and the British Patellofemoral society. He also undertakes medicolegal work. This involves working for both defendants and claimants as well as single joint instructions for personal injury and negligence claims. He is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Medical Law. Gary consults at Northampton General Hospital, BMI Three Shires Northampton and the Ramsay Horton Treatment Centre, Banbury
