Mr Neil Kitchen - a highly accomplished and experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon - is the lead neurosurgeon for skull-base surgery and neuro-oncology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. He is also the medical director of the highly esteemed Queen Square Gamma Knife Unit, and currently seeing patients at the specialized Queen Square (GammaKnife) Radiosurgery Centre. With more than 35 years of experience, Mr Kitchen is an expert in diagnosing, managing and treating brain tumours, cavernoma, trigeminal neuralgia, brain cancer, central nervous system cancer, and traumatic brain injury. He is highly skilled in performing brain tumour surgery, gamma knife radiosurgery and intracranial microsurgery. Mr Kitchen earned his medical degree from both St Bartholomew's Hospital and the University of Cambridge, with the latter awarding his diploma in 1986. Prior to this, he has a BSc degree in the history of medicine from the Wellcome Institute, University College London. Apart from impressive qualifications, Mr Kitchen has been a member of the Society of British Neurosurgeons, General Medical Council and Royal College of Surgeons. His dedication to his research interests, including gamma knife and brain tumour surgery, is evidenced by his numerous peer-reviewed medical articles and publications.
